Laser welding - Basics

There are two methods for laser welding: deep welding works with high processing speeds and produces seams which are up to four times deeper than the seam width. Conduction welding provides exceptionally smooth and pore-free joints of the highest quality.

Without additional material only gaps of 0.2..0.3mm can be closed by laser welding. As is the case in conventional welding, a filler material is used for the laser welding of larger gaps.
